Default FORD dealer diagnose

i went to my Ford dealer to have my engine light check as well as some sounds from the engine. They charged me for two seperate fees ($72 each) which come up to $145 with tax. I am a bit confused and not sure how they work in dealer or do they oevr charge me? thanks

Ouchers! That's why I never go to a dealership unless I need a recall service performed (for free) or buy a part that isn't available on the aftermarket. I'm not sure what fees you were charged by the dealership - what is stated on your receipt?

Next time, if I were you, I'd go to Auto Zone and have the codes run for free. A Check/Service Engine light is usually emissions-related, such as a sensor, and is usually a quick and inexpensive repair.

I understand they will be standard charge for the diagnose but not the two diagnose charge at the same time.
