Default hard downshifting explorer 2010

hi all, i am very glad to join this forum.
i have a ford explorer xlt 2010 with about 140k mi, basically everything going well but i feel some hard downshifting when deceleration while to stopping, i read most of stories about this and i made the relearn strategy for it by disconnecting the negative of battery and did the full instructions carefully. after that the car downshift prefect for about 3 week and back again to the bad habit.

what are your instructions to solve this issue??

transmission oil and filter well maintained and all maintenance regularly taken!!!

thanx in advance to all

From what you are describing it may be the shift solenoid. It looks like the only way to get all of the solenoids from Ford is to order part number 9L3Z-7A100-C (#9L3Z7A100C: CONTROL ASY - TRANSMISSION) which is very expensive and must be programmed. I would have it diagnosed and maybe wait for some other responses.

There is one solenoid available separately 6L2Z-7G484-AA (#6L2Z7G484AA: Auto Trans Control Solenoid.) at considerably less cost.

Thank you much for your response, in fact, i thought about this cause but when i went to the dealership they said that ford explorer normally makes some hard downshift.
On the other hand, how is solenoid sensor become damaged in 2010 car.???

The only time I have heard that explanation is with the dual clutch transmission which I do not believe was out at that time... As for the timing of the issue, every car is different and things can go out at weird times. I am not saying that is the problem but it is a possibility, maybe you will should get it looked at by a specialty transmission shop.

your are 100% right, and i went to a ford and GMC transmission experts called (Tristar) and they also said that there is some hard downshifting maybe normally. in fact i think there is a problem because i had Mercedes benz before and it never ever did had downshifting.

thank you

Each cars drivability is different so it is a bit unfair to compare an Explorer to a Benz. It is hard for me to know if it is normal or not without actually being able to drive the vehicle.
