Default Hood latch,

Going to install a new hood latch cable, last time I Installed one I had problems with the latch being hard to pull. I ended up breaking the plastic pull handle. Any hints as to stop this from happening again. the latch itself is fine and works excellently.

If you can, make sure the cable is lubricated between the insert and the casing.
Make sure there are no sharp bends when routing the cable. Don't overtighten any hold downs for the casing.

make sure the hood bump stops are not adjusted to tight. If they put to much upward pressure on the hood with it latched...the cable will be hard to pull to release the hood.
