going into my first winter with my 2010 4DR EBauer Value 4X4. any pointers on the gadgets for a safe wintery drive in Iowa?

I'm sure others will chime in, but other then the obvious as far as rig winterizing, I carry some extra warm clothes/blanket, chains for my 4x4, fuel tank is always full during winter driving, flash light, 1st Aid kit, just in case I get into a 'situation'. It's happened before Of course now with cell phones, we use the travel update method when we have to make a run over our summit or when heavy ice is present. That way we know when family has cleared the concern area's.
