ok so i left the light's on in my 92 explorer and i've done it before and I have melted through like 4 pairs of cables and now it won't start again. as soon as you plug up the cables it tries to start it's self and doesn't charge the battery i know NOTHING about cars HELP!

 

Starter relay, but if you burnt up 4 pair of jumper on it this time you better put a starter in it. Might as well put a good battery in it too.

 

well thats the thing the starter was replaced about 5 months ago brand new and the battery isn't too old

 

You replaced the starter, but have you replaced the stater relay? If it's trying to start as soon as you put jumpers on it, it sounds like the relay is hung up or the small + feed wire to the relay is energized.
