Cool Manufacturing Date vs Model Year
I have as a 1999 Ford Explorer. The Manufacture date on the door reads 2/95. The model year according to VIN is a 1999. Can that be explained?

Did you buy the vehicle new or used? If new, I would say "MISPRINT". If used, I would say that the door was replaced with a like color door and the data tag never replaced with the original one. Does the VIN number on the door data tag match the dash VIN tag?
