Default New 2017 Explorer Owner

Hi all!
We just brought our new 2017 Explorer Platinum home yesterday.
Lots to read about - lots of customizing.

Couple things our salesperson was unsure on - stop/start option.
He finally found the toggle in the menu. But, even after changing the toggle - the car doesn't turn off. I assume it's in the menu but still not a feature on this particular car.

Also, my husband read that this car should use mid-grade gas. Salesperson said low-grade gas was fine.

Opinions?

Any other hints and tips about features you like?

87 octane is the lowest you should use. Owners manual page 170 states...

"Your vehicle is designed to operate on
regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum
pump (R+M)/2 octane rating of 87.
Some fuel stations, particularly those in
high altitude areas, offer fuels posted as
regular unleaded gasoline with an octane
rating below 87. We do not recommend
these fuels.
For best overall vehicle and engine
performance, premium fuel with an octane
rating of 91 or higher is recommended. The
performance gained by using premium fuel
is most noticeable in hot weather as well
as other conditions, for example when
towing a trailer.

Thanks - would definitely not go under 87. I wouldn't even know where to get gas lower than that.

Anyway - thanks. We did come across that info in the book. I was wondering if anyone had personal experience using a higher octane.
Will stick with regular unless we are pushing the engine/towing.
