Hi folks , looking for some help here on my explorer '98.. have lost ALL control over 4x4 , rear wash wipe ,front wind screen wipers,electric windows and the sunroof.. can not figure it out , have checked all fuses all relays that I can see . The weird thing is that when i open any door and leave front windscreen wipers to the on position they WORK !!! or when i LOCK/UNLOCK the doors using the internal drivers side switch the wipers operate briefly too!! Only thing i can recall is when i put the dimmer control up to max i heard a sort of clicking soud but that was WEEKS ago !!! have been told by friends that it may be the gem module but bit wary on that one .. Please please can someone give a hint in the right direction , I know I am new but have loads of personal WORK time on this model .

 

Sounds like one of the wires are crossed, and you only get power some times
