Default no reverse

Ok i saw a 1999 ford explorer sport 4.0 sohc for sale for 2000.00 so i went to go check it out it was parked in a parking lot with nothing in front of it so i took it for a test drive around the parking lot. this suv drove great 4x4 all worked fine idles great so i bought it. brought it home today parked on my driveway. got my son ready for school jumped in the truck put it in reverse and it didnt go anywhere just reved i can feel it going in to gear but it just doesnt move all of the drive gears work fine because i took it on the hiway on the way home from the parking lot. i can feel it doing something when shifting from park to reverse and from reverse to neutral
does anyone know what this could be, do i need to replace the tranny?
and stupid me paid the guy in cash ( i called him and he said that he has no clue )

That's a bummer...I think the tranny is going to have to be replaced unfortunately. But I would get it checked out by a mechanic and get their opinion first

Default no reverse

There is no adverse effects to reverse mounting other than the baskets design may limit some air flow. But you will be able to make the boxes slightly smaller because the sub it outside the box.

Well, on the older ones 2nd and reverse would go out if you jumped on it when it was cold.the thick fluid would slam the cold o-ring on the servo on the side of the tranny. four bolts hold the servo on and the o-rings are 30-40 bucks. Took me 10 minutes with a wrench and a sheetmetal feeler gauge.
