p0171 code

Default p0171 code

My 1999 explorer is registering a fault code p0171( system too lean (bank #1). Any help in what this means would be appreciated.

If you have the scaner, let us know what the voltage of O2 sensor1 bank1 is.

there is a tsb on that code for reprogramming the pcm i worked on one the other day reprogrammed and ok

Run test and erased code, no problems as of yet. Will be back to ask advice if problem returns. Thank you for responses thus far.

#1 fuel injector is clogging. Check electrical physical connection to #1 nozzle. If no help, try a fuel injectore cleaner gas additive. If still no help, change the injector.

If your have TBI, all of this is will not work!

why would you say number one injector is the problem ,is bank one not number one and i have at a ford dealer for 5 years and not seen or heard of that one and i am not talking about the code lol

You are exactly correct!? I was answering a question on #1 fuel injector fault. I don't know how it ended up here???
