Default P2195 o2 Sensor Stuck Ford Explorer 2010

We got the code saying: " P2195 o2 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean Bank 1 Sensor 1". We bought a new o2 sensor and I had a mechanic install it. However after a reset the same code appeared the next day.

Now one weird thing, is that I struggled to get a firm answer as to where the bank 1 sensor 1 is located on a Ford Explorer 2010. Google gives me mixed answers, and both O'Reiley and Pep Boys pointed out that it was on the drivers side. However the mechanic that installed it for us told me it was on the passenger side. I later checked with another mechanic I know and trust, and he also said it was located on the passenger side. (so if someone can confirm this I will at least know that it isn't a problem with replacing the wrong sensor).

What would you do if you were me? Ride it out and maybe the check engine light disappears? (we had that happen before) Do you think this issue is serious? Or maybe I should install a new mass airflow sensor or a new fuel filter? (O'Reiley computer told us that these were other things that fixed the problem if the o2 sensor wasnt at fault) I really dont want to pay even more money to get a diagnostic done. We recently paid a lot to replace the entire transmission. All help is appreciated!

A few things to consider,
If you decide to diagnose an engine problem and supply the incorrect ( what you think is the problem) instructions and the mechanic does as you instruct you eat the entire bill because he did as you instructed.

There is nothing wrong in attempting to help yourself, but there is more to diagnosing than replacing sensors. We may not be able to tell you exactly what is causing a problem, but we might be able to save you some $$$ by preventing you from jumping the gun..

It does sound like extra fuel is getting into the engine and the system has gone past it's correcting limits and that could be why it giving the code of being stuck lean.

The better thing to do would be to have a good shop check your vehicle with a capable scan tool.

Need to know what engine is in your vehicle in order to provide the location of #1 cyl.

It is a V6 engine. The mechanic said it was ultimately 3 codes he could see with his device. 2195, 0443 0403. The first is the o2 thing and the other are emission codes. The other codes O'Reiley and Pep Boys didnt even see with their scanners.

That 2195 code said that the o2 sensor on bank 1 sensor 1 needed to be replaced. So thats exactly what he did. I didnt tell him which one to replace, he said which one to do. I mean the mechanic should know which sensor is where. However as it turns out that isnt even the issue if you ask me. I've read that it could be a half a dozen different things that are causing that code to appear. It also could just be a flimsy wiring issue which is what I am hoping. It has gone off and on for the last 3 weeks. So that makes me think it is a wiring issue. If I could bring it to a place and they could diagnose it for free I would happily do so. We are on a road trip so its more inconvenient when you don't know what place you can trust.

Many things don't always take place at our convenience and a road trip can get a little messed up.

The only suggestion I would suggest is a Ford dealership. If there is some problem with their work another dealership might be able to follow up on that work.

The important thing to consider is , if the system cannot correct the original problem, which appears to be the case here, addl expense is anticipated because damage may be in progress while the problem is underway. (Referring to converter damage). The sooner it is checked and corrected the better.
