Alright, here is my problem...My friend was being an idiot and every time I'd roll down the window, when it was about half way down, she'd press the "up" button on her side and when I'd try and put it up, she'd press "down"...anyways, long story short, the window doesn't work now. When I press the button, all I hear is *thump thump thump thump* like the motor is having trouble engaging or something...anyways, Ramrod, when you read this, as I'm sure you will, you offered some help in the Mustang forum re//power windows and was wondering if you thought it was the same thing...any other advice is appreciated as well anybody else.

 

Yea you going to have tear into it , sounds like the motor is working ,or it wouldnt go thump thump ,,,I think the noise is the Plastic Clutch sprag trying to catch an then releasing again , ( its just spinning inside it self like a stripped drive gear ), they aint bad , an if its just the plastic drive assy you can get those for like $12.00 bucks , VS $60.00 for a motor

 

I'm assuming that I could get the parts at the local parts store like Napa or something...

Same thing happend to me. You can either spend $150+ on a new motor, or $15 bucks on this and several hours work.
