is it possible?
Yes, and no..
I have this same Ford style solenoid on my airplane. Same reduction starter in a different housing.
The two small lugs are the key to it being cabled correctly, meaning clocked correctly. Some of the aftermarket solenoids have a bolt on spade connector that will fit either small terminal, and sometimes are loose in the packaging . But if you look at the solder runner you can tell which is the ignition switch feed. Some of the replacement solenoids, the large lugs have a set back, or a indent to center the battery cable,, some not.. I had failed a solenoid and wasn’t paying attention, installed it clocked wrong and it did work, sort of, but it chattered the flywheel as it grunted to get it spinning. Once it started cranking, it sounded normal..
