Default Service Engine Soon EGR Valve

2002 Ford Explorer-the Service Engine Soon light came on. I checked the code and it indicated a faulty EGR valve. I replaced the EGR valve and reset the computer but the light came back on within 200 miles with the same code!!! Any idea what could be causing the service engine light to come on again with the same code even AFTER I made the repair?

Check and see is the passage between the EGR and the intake is clean, the passage from the exhaust to EGR is clean, with some carb cleaner, and a wire or somethng to try to run through the tube. Also the vaccum line might be restricted/leaking.

Another vote here for the DPFE sensor, and carry a spare.
