I have a 99 SOHC that when you excellerate you get a loud vavle chatter as I would call it sounding like the thing is coming apart but at idle and moderate excelleration you have no sound just when you kick it down. Any Suggestions???

 

Sounds like the timing chain(s) are getting loose in the timing chain cassette(s). Or it could be some serious pinging caused by carbon build up or timing drift due to worn timing chain(s) due to the extra load under exceleration.

 

add some intake cleaner a few times and high octane gas once or twice in a row to see if that clears it up
