Default tire size

Okay so I tried a search and I couldn't find much. What is the largest sized tire you can put on a 1994 explorer 4x4 with stock 15inch rims with out a lift or any major modifications?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Default RE: tire size

The largest tires that will fit on the these Explorers without rubbing are 30x9.50's Some people have been able to fit 31x10.50's, but this really depends on manufacturing tolerances. Anything larger will require a suspension or body lift. There are many quality lift kits available for this generation of Explorers.
