Default trailer lights

I have a1996 explorer that has the trailer hookup.nothing is coming out the end. I mhave grounde straight to the battery and can't get a test lamp lit on any of the three feeds. I followed the pig tail back to the left brake light assembly disconnected it and couldn't get the light lit there either except i got power off of a 5th feed for the license plate light. I got electrical diagrasm from ford and it shows two relays in power distribution box. I don't know which is which and there arte two or three more relays in there to choose from. Anyone know anything about this and/or can i wire into the tailights.

Did you check the fuse #8/20amp fuse for power distribution for the trailering relays?

The trailering relays are in 'Aux' box 1 and 4.. Doubt all three would be bad...

Thanks. I looked at number 8 and it looked alright. I'll check it with an ohm meter. I have the 2 schematics you sent and I'm the same as you " all three at once, not likely" if all else fails can I wire into the lights themselves? I've been told "no"

checked the #8 fuse in the power distribution box and it is a 30 it checked out good .I don't think that is the right fuse but I actually don't know anything at this point I take it that aux box #1 is the power dist box and aux box #4 is in the compartment where the jack is How can I tell which relay is which? Can I wire into the lights andbe done with this mess?
