Default Transmission Issue

2004 XLT, 100K miles. VGC, drives and shifts well. 2k miles ago changed trans fluid and filter as well as rear main seal. recently discovered under extreme braking after coming to a full stop, trans goes out of gear. I have to shift lever around a coupe of times and it jolts back into gear. Has anyone experienced this?

Never seen that before. My thoughts would be to check trans fluid level, make sure shifter cable is connected securely/correctly to both trans and shifter.

You asked the same question on 1-25-22. It's not going to get fixed any faster by posting it again. Did you check what was suggested back on 1-25?

Thanks for pointing out how redundant i am. However all suggestions thus far have been addressed to no avail. Fluid level is fine and all connections appear correct.

If fluid level is good and the shifter cable is good then you'll likely need to open the transmission and inspect for internal wear.
