Default Turns over but won't start

I have a 1998 XLT Explorer V6 and I have tried the alternator trick along with the key on key off 3x then the break trick to only have them both fail. My RPM needle does not budge at all when I crank it but the engine turns over. What could possibly be my problem. Is it a simple fix and is it expensive to fix?

Thanks for any feedback.

don't know if it has been fixed, probably so. it is the crank sensor or its connector.
