Default [Question] 2015 F-150 with 226K is it safe buying?

Hi, I have a question. I am looking for a used truck to buy and since is hard to find them in my area without paying an arm and a leg. Is it safe to buy a 2015 F-150 with 226K miles? The whole truck looks clean a bit dirty since most of the miles were from a company driving to location high way miles mainly. They are asking a little over 15K is it worth buying or should I stay away or talk to them down and by how much? The truck is 2015 F-150 Super Crew XLT V-6 EcoBoost. Thanks!

Personally I would not buy a vehicle with over 200k miles, especially a with turbos, theres just more parts that can wear out and fail. If it was a really really good deal I might think about it if it was a 3.7 or 5.0 engine.

I see, Thank you for the reply. The dealer I guess said they can drop it down a few hundreds of dollars but that still place it in the 15K, if the engine die I guess it cost 8K to 10K to replace? Would be nice if they were able to drop it like 10K or so. lol
What miles should I start to stay away from Trucks in your opinion? I mean I been looking at 2013-to- 2016 but I am trying to stay below 20K if possible.

I have no idea how much a new engine would cost you. Will you be able to work on the vehicle if there are issues? Not talking about oil changes and brake jobs but having a basic knowledge of working on engines? Obviously covid has pushed the price of used vehicle up drastically and it doesnt seem likely it will drop back down for a while.

Well with all the computer systems these vehicles have these days I pretty much take it to the dealer to get the work done. I have not worked on cars since I use to owned my Rx7 and those were rotary engines. I won't trust my self doing the work these days plus I don't have the space or place to do that any more. XD I may just look for a truck with 80K to 150K maybe to buy for a decent price just to hold me over for a while. Issue is I can't afford another 25K+ vehicle since I got my wife a 2018 Pacifica Limited and that was about 25K and still doing payments. My old 2001 F-150 XLT 4x4 was already costing me money fixing things here and there and I had it from 60K to about 89K which is why I traded in for the minivan for her.

If you are able to do it, I personally would hold off any vehicle purchases till the new year. Prices, especially trucks are at an all time high right now. You get less truck for more money right now.

True, would be nice if I only could but I can't. My wife found a 2010 Ford F-150 Fx4 Package with 151k super clean for $16,900 which has super intense service maintenance record from not only the dealer that service it but is also the dealer that sold it to originally. That's a picture of the truck I am getting now.

Supposed to have a 5.4L 3V engine with a 6 Speed transmission. Question did they ever make this truck with a 4 speed transmission along with the 5.4L 3V? Anyone?

I am 90% sure I have worked on a 5.4L 4 speed transmission but cannot absolutely say so.
By 2010 Ford had fixed the spark plug issues with the 5.4L so thats good, do be aware that the 5.4L is a decent engine but does require regular oil changes or the engine will have issues.
