My Ford F-150 with an in-line 6 lost power and I had to pump the gas peddle repeatedly to keep it going , but it did keep on going slowly then a quick speed up then back to slow slow!! I was told it had 3 fuel pumps , 1 in each tank and 1 on the frame, and there is a valve in between them that could be my problem ??? Help??? Thanks Ford fan

Id check fuel pressure at the shrader valve on the fuel rail as a start point.
