Default 1995 ford f150

I have a 1995 ford f150 that has been hard shifting for a while. I heard it may have been due to a throttle position sensor. Well after a strenuous 3 hour drive (lot of hills) i have noticed that when i press hard on the accelerator the truck will (sometimes) shudder almost like it wants to stall out but it will slowly continue to accelerate. Could this be a bad torque converter? I have a video but it doesnt really do the peoblem justice.

Welcome to the site..

Any OD light, or CEL? ABS?
How many miles on the trans?

Torque converter clutch shudder was fairly common as they age out. Serviced regularly,, helped control the concern. Ignition misfire can mimic a shudder as well.
If OD is canceled, on a steep grade or hard pull does it still shudder?
VSS can make for erratic shift timing, harsh or extended out forced shifts as well. Being shudder and shift feel are involved, line pressure issues etc may be suspect, more so if a high mileage unit.
Generally if a TPS has a voltage drop out, ranging issues, you may or should get an intermittent CEL if not a hard code.. Both TPS and VSS can be ruled out..

So the truck has 191k on the original transmission as far as i know. Ive only had it for a few months but from checking out the stack of service records with the truck it looks like it was serviced fairly regularly and all the fluids are right where they should be. The funny thing is the truck doesnt shudder when i put it into 1st or 2nd. Only does it in drive. I hooked up my obd reader and it is throwing codes: 121, 654, 212, 337, 628 without a cel light on.

TCC isn’t applied in lower ranges, or if the OD selection is cancel. With overdrive On,, and the trans makes its final shift (TC lockup) and throttle is then moderately applied and it shudders, the TC is usually the cause. Shudder with OD canceled, different cause/s

Mixed bag of codes, but should be addressed in the order stored. Codes may be invalid if disconnects were performed with the ignition on/running etc.

TPS can easily be checked with an analog VOM if it’s suspect..
191k would be a good service life, and if OE, shudder more likely. The harsh shifts, I’d rule out inputs, but could be it’s tired.....
