Exclamation 1995 losing antifreeze

Have a 95 F-150 V8 losing antifreeze. Looks like it leaking from behind the fan, but can't pin point it for sure. I was wondering if it could be the water pump because when I press on the gas it will drop from running hot and go back down to cool and then run perfectly fine. Get it home, park it and there is a leak. Any ideas would be very helpful or my husband wants me to trade it in.

Sounds like the water pump is going bad. Not a terribly expensive fix at an auto shop as far as repairs go, but if you or someone you know is any kind of a wrencher it isn't too tough to change on your own.
