Default 1996 ford f-150 dash gauges

i have a 96 ford f-150 4x4 with dash gauges, not lights and there are no numbers on the gauges, they just say normal ! my oil gauge reads about half way into the normal range, about how many pounds of oil pressure is that ? also my temperature gauge goes back and forth but not past the half way mark towards the hot mark ! is it because the thermostat is opening and closing as i drive makes it go back and forth and it don,t overheat either, it just goes to the half way mark and then back towards the cold mark ! thanks guys !

I have seen temp gauges do just as yours seems to be doing. It was normal for the vehicles in which I observed the movement, the sending units were just a little more sensitive. Something you can check and make sure is working properly and that is the fan clutch. Does it freewheel when cold and then really spin at engine speed when hot or does it seem locked to engine speed all the time?
