2000 f150 headlights wont shut off

first guess is the switch but it feels normal, have to pull the fuses to shut lights off ?

hanky 11-05-2019 05:22 PM

One way to check this is to remove the headlight sw and unplug the plug from the sw and see what happens. If lights go out=sw , if not now need to look further

fwilliams1 11-17-2019 03:02 PM

pulled the switch lights are still on

hanky 11-17-2019 03:35 PM

I am not clear on your reply. Did you remove the switch and unplug the plug from the switch?

fwilliams1 11-17-2019 03:52 PM

sorry ,, switch completely unplugged

hanky 11-17-2019 04:03 PM

I believe your vehicle had/has Daytime Running Lights, is this so ?

fwilliams1 11-17-2019 04:36 PM

yes it does , it has auto driving lights, but you can turn off with the light switch .

hanky 11-18-2019 03:43 AM

There are 2 relays that are involved with your vehicle's Daytime running lights, The first chance I get I will try to layout where they are.

At this point it could be a problem with the smart stick (sig lt sw) or the relays.

fwilliams1 11-29-2019 01:19 PM

so i swapped the relays around , all 3 have the same part # , didnt help much, but there is a gray module clipped to the access panel
when i unplug it lights will go out , #

Module CBX YL3T-14A597-AA

hanky 11-30-2019 01:45 PM

Evidently, the problem is within that module.
