Hey all, just puchased a 2004 f-150 XL basic. The AM_FM is awsume for factory but miss the CD. Does anybody know if Ford still puts the same wiring harness in all their vehicles? Can I go to a salvage yard and get a factory upgrade with the pig tails and plug right in and play. I know Ford use to use the same harness in their trucks regardless and you could do that.Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Also, the brakes sqeal, is that common on this truck?

 

I would think the harness for the radio is the same in any of their trucks. The radio only needs inputs, B+, grnd, lights, Ing., ***, and outputs, *** on/off, frnt l/r +/-, rear l/r +/-.
For the brakes try spraying some brake cleaner on them throw the wheel on the rotor and pads.
