I just replaced the passenger side front half shaft on my 2004 ford f150. When I installed the new one the shaft would not engage when trying to turn manually. I loosened the four bolts holding the hubs and with about a quarter of an inch gap the half shaft locked in. When I tightened up the four bolt back flush the axle would not engage. I could turn the tire and the axle does not engage. Any ideas on what I might have done wrong. The replacement half shaft was a reman and I don't know if it might be slightly longer that a new one. Any help would be appreciated. I hate to have to take it off if I don't have too.
