2011 f150 eng temp gauge

Just got truck, coolant temp gauge rapidly goes from less than half to near 3/4 then back down consistently and no heat under 1250 rpm, anyone else solve this? Real strong coyote for 220k. Thanks

Can you tell us what work was recently done on the cooling system?

turns out coolant low with air pocket brought up to level all good. Waterpump weep hole culprit and only drips when cold
