Default 302 rebuild or 351w

I have a 1996 f150 XLT with the 302. The motor has 134k and I want to bulletproof the motor with minor HP and torque gains. I’ve seen a lot of people talking about the 347 stroker kits are decent but pose the threat of splitting the 302 block. I wanted to keep the truck original the best I can. I’m not looking to race the truck or anything like that. Some better top end speed would be cool and the ability to tow anything is what I really want. I also want the motor to be bulletproof I want it to last a long time. I have the EFI system. I plan on doing new everything so I’m also curious to hear what everyone would recommend I do and change when I pull the motor and strip the truck. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about just stroking or rebuilding a 351w over using the 302. My goal for the truck is for it to be nice enough to show if I wanted to, but still a truck. I won’t be driving it daily but it’ll get use. Any thoughts and considerations are greatly appreciated.
forgot to mention it has a rebuilt E40D in it
