I have a 89 f150 4x4 with a 302 and im looking at swapping out the 4 spd for a 5 speed . Can I just get a 5spd tranny and swap them out? Or is there alot more to it?

 

Yes it should be fine to do it as long as the 5 speed is out of another 4x4. And you should make sure that you keep the transfer case from the truck that is getting the tranny and remember that the 5 speed transmission has its own bell housing so you don't need to keep the one that's in the truck now. I just thought of this make sure that the slave cylinder is inside the bell housing it should not be a problem with it not bolting up
