Default 96 f150 hard shifting

Hey I'm just starting out on this forum. My name is bobcat.here is my problem. I
have a 96 f150 4.9 2 wheel drive automatic xl. A couple months ago truck started banging into gear. I would reset it by disconnecting the battery. Now it does it all the time. Got codes read and it came up as po500. Vehicle speed sensor. Changed the speed sensor. Now the speedometer is going crazy on top of banging into gear, overdrive light is on and check engine light is on but you can reset that. Does anyone know what I should do from here.thanks for your help.

Red face HARD SHIFTING---460 4 speed Eletric shift

Hi ! did you fig out what caused your truck to starting shifting hard? I have a 94' speedo never has jumped. I replaced my Speedo sensor. Wasn't a factor Ford part but didn't change any or correct any thing. Hardshifts Like im towing
I'm having problems with the truck starting out in hard shifts ( holding out like Im towing a trailer) then its starts going into a no converter like start ( like direct drive) then it goes into safe mode and starts in 4th. This after maybe a 30 mins on the road in traffic and hwy. I limp home.
It started years ago, it happen on the road just starting out 1 day. Cool day cool engine. there no heat related issues or wear problems. the trans is like new. 118,00 miles with 2 break down and inspect with no problems found. Updated shift kit and all has been good for afew years.
I watch for for all signs that direct to the misfunction. only sign is possibly voltage drop while under long drives. I noticed volt meter to slowly drop a 1/2 volt.
Some times I can go months with no issues. No lights blink no codes have come up when it goes into these modes. seems electrical.
Though it was the trailer brake controller but that didn't solve it. I disconnect it when not in use.
need to fix's before I brake a U joint or a tale shaft.
