99 F150 super cab, feels like slack in rear end when changing into Over drive?

99 F150 super cab, feels like slack in rear end when changing into Over drive?
If I turn OD off everything shifts smooth, leave it on and it makes a crazy shift into OD and its rather a rough shift when on the interstate. Someone mentioned clutches in the rear end? Any ideas. Truck has 185000 miles on it .
