cranks but no start

I have a 2003 F150 with a 4.6 could a cooling temperature sensor stop it from running like I said it cranks but wont start

Have verified spark, fuel is present etc?
Do you hear a pump run?
Will it fire on a short shot of ether?

Joe1965 10-19-2018 04:51 PM

I can't hear the fuel pump come on but I have fuel at the rail I don't know how many psi it is though

But is there spark?
Fuel at the rail is good, but doesn’t mean there’s any PCM controlled injector drop/spray..
If it fires on a spot of ether into the intake, ignition related issues can be ruled out,..
Pump run rules out inertia issues, and rail pressure volume supports pump run...
If you can prove out ignition, over fuel delivery, helps in a direction to go.....

Well it's not getting fire that's for sure because I pulled the plug wire off for the spark plug in it rounded it to the black Ranger over no spark but I was told that a bad coolant temperature system would cause no spark and I was having trouble with the truck running hot at a stop as long as I was driving it was cool so I have no idea
