I have an 01 5.4 with 98000 miles. I was on my home from work when going up a hill i got on the gas and when i did it started to run rough. I got home then drove fine for about 2 miles then started again. the check engine light is not on. Please let me know what you may think is wrong.

 

What do you mean by running rough? What are the conditions you are in, under acceleration? Deceleration? Towing a load? Need some more info.

 

just sittin in park it acts normal, but as soon as i put it in drive it starts to vibrate. this just started today. Also i around 40 i switched off overdrive and the vibration became less but was there. when i let off the gas the vibration stops but as soon as i get on it, its runs rough

 

It sounds like you might have a vacuum leak. The first thing I'd do is run the diagnostics. AutoZone will run the codes for free. Please let us know what errors it displays, if any.

 

Check plugs and coils.
Try running fuel injector cleaner in the gas.

 

readout came to a #7 misfire and the code 1405

 

Sounds like a coil or plug.
