Default F150 air filter?

Just bought my first F-150 but the air filter is a mess. What can anyone recommend to buy using Amazon as far as a air filter? Thanks!

My choices would be in this order. Motorcraft, Wix or Fram. They are a lot cheaper at Rock Auto.

How do I know which one? Some comments on Amazon say they will fit, some say not?

I would buy one at Rockauto. Again, they are a lot less money and you may want to order a cabin or oil filter. Here is a link, they will fit your 2010 F150. btw- The Motorcraft is an FA1883 If you want to buy from Amazon.

Make sure you also vacuum out the air box.

Go to an auto parts store and you will know what fits as you can install it in the parking lot. With my Chevy truck the Fram was terrible and the OEM one from GM was better in every respect and the cost was the same.

Be aware that an air filter is least effective when it is new. The filters are designed to provide adequate air flow to the engine after a lot of loading has taken place and this means they trap the fewest particles when brand new. Same applies to fuel filters for engines.
