f150 is killing me got me on the ropes now
hey guyes i took a motor out of an 1989 f150 302 auto and put it into an 1988 4x4 manual and now i cant get the truck to fire off i have power going to the coil but no spark at the plugs previous owner wired a jumper switch on the start selinoid with a push button i know the motor works i was driving the truck i pulled it out of i have that whole truck for parts and it was two wheel drive i allready tried choking it down, and even throwing a few wrenchs at it but the vibration wasn't enough to start it can any one help out their.

I just sold a 1990 model that was doing the same thing. I replaced the coil, ignition module, and pick up coil but still no spark. After troubleshooting like I should have done in the first place I found out the computer was bad. Ordered a new one from Advance Auto Parts and installed it. Problem solved. The book I used to troubleshoot was a Haynes or Hayes something like that. When I sold the truck I sent the book with it. Hope this helps.
