F150 Powersteering pump removal

Default F150 Powersteering pump removal

Iam working on a 1990 F150,6cyl. manual shift 2 wheel drive.I need to relace the powersteering pump,but not sure how to remove the pulley,Can anyone help?

The pulley has a 'groove' cut into the pulleys hub.. There are a few different types/styles of pullers available to take it loose, but the one pictured is the more common tool, and takes the least amount of room to use and is a 'positive' fit.. Generally their a fairly tight press fit.. You take the 2 'split halves' and put them over/in the the groove with the threaded hub installed, then the round thin collar slips over the 2 halves with the screw shaft portion outwards to apply the pressure making it a solid one piece puller..
