Default FMX Quality?

Just got a 70 F100. Just wondering how the FMX Trans holds up. Good or Bad?

They are pretty good, drag racers like them.Yours has been around 38 years that should tell you something.Try and find a 38 Y/O toyota,Honda or Nissan still running and not rotted away.

I must say, after working on Fords for 35 years, that the only trans that I have rebuilt less of was the jatco. The FMX was a pretty bullet proof tranny.

I had one in a 1971 Torino. The only thing ever done to it was change the fluid and change the filter. 37 years later it was still working when I traded it a month ago. Bulletproof, IMHO.

Hello! I am putting an FMX AT into my 1966 Galaxie, but I am having trouble finding out what the flywheel looks like (if that's the right term). Anyone who can point me in the right direction so I can get my hands on a correct flywheel will have my sincere thanks.
