Default Ford to help with blown plugs?

I have an '03 Supercrew with 5.4 liter. It's got 120K miles on it. It has blown a plug for the 2nd time in the last six months. The last time it was #8...against the firewall...and it happened the day before we were to take a family vacation so I just took it to the dealer. They ended up having to remove the head, but I had taken it to a dealer that our company does a lot of business with and they gave me the buddy deal. They did the whole thing for $500 but I know it should have cost me a lot more. I don't know which one it is this time. It happened late last night and I haven't had time to check it out yet.

Is there any relief from Ford for this known problem? Are they helping at all with the cost of the repairs? Unfortunately, it's my wife's truck and she was completely fed up with Ford after the last episode when she learned this was a common problem. If we don't get help with this, I know what she's gonna say..."We are never buying another Ford again."

Ford does not have any plans to assist on this repair. If it is out of warranty, it will be yours. Seems like you have a dealer that is willing to work some with you. Sorry.
