Hey, guys I have a 1990 ford f150 6 cylinder and I was wondering what can I buy or do to this truck to give more horse power?

 

What kind of power are you looking for and how much do you want to spend on it?

 

Like more "get up and go power", and as little as possible!

 

K&N air cleaner filter and headers w/ a free flowing exhaust will help. A K&N air cleaner filter is around $50-$60. Headers would be around $150-$250 depending on what you get. The rest of the exhaust can be anywhere from $100-$600 or more depending on what you do with it.

Changing the gearing in the rear end will make it act like it has more hp. If it's a 4wd you'd have to do it in the front and back so the gears match, and changing the gearing for quicker take offs will result in poorer fuel economy.

Could replace the engine with a 302 or a 351 for a couple hundred dollars, too. That'll give you more power.

 

wrecker 5.0 will wake the truck up! a weekend, a couple boxes of beer & 500 bucks will double the horse power!!
