my overdrive does not work. it wont kick in or anything. any advice anybody?

 

I read in one of your other posts that the O/D light does cycle..Correct? What engine?

 

Best advice - don't open the trans. yourself to try to see the overdrive unless you're itching to see God early. If it's not a bad or missing vacuum line and the trans. fluid and filter have been changed recently and your downshift cable? (these used to be a lever - not sure but don't think they still are) isn't stuck or jamming then you may want to call a transmission place/garage that has the tool to disassemble OD trannys (should the spring be damaged).
