Default Overdrive lockout switch not working

I recently bought a 03 F150, Ive noticed that the overdrive lockout switch isnt working
is this something that is easily fixable, IE fuse or just switch replacement.
Thanks

scan the vehicle to rule out trans problem...

trucks will sometimes go into limp mode if there is a problem...locking out O/D

double check for obvious problems....

does truck shift normally through forward gears?

is fluid stinky or discolored? Normal fluid will look like strawberry syrup (bright red) and will have faint petroleum smell.....

if no obvious problems...might be a bad switch or maybe a bad wire...

scanning truck will give you the best info to work with.....

good luck

if the light is not coming on that saya "OFF" then either it is a bad bub or a shifter. it it has tilt steering then it is proablly the shifter. the wires will get chafed over the column. remove the trim pices over the steering comumn and lower bezel and you should see the chafed wire. easy repair
