Default power window problem

the passenger side power window on my f-150 only works part of the time. when it works you can operate it from either side, but when it doesn,t it wont work from either side. so far it has only quit in the up position. has anyone had a problem like this, and what I might check for? sure would appreciate any suggestions. Oh yeah, its a 1998.

Sounds like a short somewhere near the window motor.

Sounds like a bad spot on the armature of the window motor. When it doesn't work, does the interior lamp dim when you try to roll it up or down. Do this with the engine off and key on. If it does dim, then it is the motor. If not, then I would suspect the master switch, as it is the ground. Also, try banging gently on the door panel, near the windown motor, to see if it doesn't start working again.

I think you ask some automotive technicians near your place. They will help you about it. I also read some automotive topics like autopartswarehouse to get idea about car repairs and car care. These are the things I always do when I have car problems.
