My son has a 2002 F-150 4x4. 4.6 engine. The trans. wont pull foward. just reverse. any way I had i guy tell me that he had a trans. it came off a 5.4 said. it would fit the 4.6 I dont think it will but dont know any help please. I also have access to a 1997 for 4x4 4.6 will the trans. out of it work i was told it would if the plug on side of trans. where the same. Thanks in advance for your help.

 

I don't think the 5.4 will fit in the 4.6. Ford is not easily interchangable with motor sizes or body styles. The one out of the 97 definately will not work.

 

Thats what i thought on the 5.4 The numbers i can find on the 97 all match the one we have looks like it will fit. thanks for the info.
