Default Remove the cab to do an engine swap?

I have a '98 F150 with a 4.6 that has bit the big one....and it is time to just change it out. I have located a donor 4.6 that is going to take its spot.

Is it necessary to remove the cab to change the engine? That is something that I have heard because of the cab-forward design. Its either that or fight it all of the way.

If so, are there any tricks to doing it?

Don't know how they did it, but a friend's shop down the road swapped out a 5.4. They said there was just enough room, barely, to slide it in w/o damaging anything.
