replace starter
My starter has been making this clicking sound every morning after the f150 starts and I'm getting tired of it.
I have consider trying to repair, anyone figure out a repair or maintenance to get the old starter working smoothly again?
If it's just not worth it and need to replace the whole unit, any recommend? I see a replacement starter is about $40 from Hexautoparts. My vehicle is 1998 ford f150 5.4L V8https://www.hexautoparts.com/new-sta...4-6l-3267.htmlAppreciate your thoughts.

If you are going to depend on the vehicle starting all the time, you have a few choices.
If you have a local electrical shop around that rebuilds starters etc., take it to them and have then overhaul it for you, FIRST choice.
If not , maybe I'm jumping the gun, but make sure the replacement you get is from a place with a good reputation, because changing starters isn't difficult, but nobody likes changing starters just for the heck of it.
Now comes the kicker, are you sure the problem is with the starter or could it be something else and the starter problem is the result and not the cause?
