Smile steering knuckle

Hi All

Ok I don't own a F150, I am using the spindle off of a 79 150
on to my 56 Packard, so I can have disc brakes to stop the car in todays
traffic and do it without breaking me..
My question is this, and yes I have done a net search and not come
up with a picture or answer.
Does the knuckle sit on a bearing or is the bearing above the knuckle?
To make this work, I'll need to bore out the Packard Knuckle and put
a bushing in there, but also need to fill the space between the end of the
steering knuckle and the spindle..
Best
