Default stock tach wiring...and...

Ok sohere's the shibby,
came accross a gauge cluster for my 86 150, its got a tach, mine don't, naturally i want it. so i got it. now, i've got an MSD 6a with the blaster coil, and unfortunately it was installed before i owned the truck and most of the stock ignition harness is predictably gone, or at least hiding very very well. from what i understand on the stock ign this gauge cluster should be plug and play. the MSD has got a tach output right? right. so am i just to run a wire from that to the dg-y wire to the tach or is it more involved than this. any advice is much appreciated. thnx,

J.
