Very true it protected what it was supposed to do. Im going to make another one our buy one haven't decided yet. But all is working underneath the rock only took out the plate. As i was going thru it i felt and herd a loud bang and i went and stopped and looked underneath and it was gone i looked back and there it was laying there lol

I do alot of off roading in Montana and Idaho. After hearing your responce I took off my glasspacks and i must say i gained a few extra ponies and its loud as heck i love it!! just posted a vid of it YouTube - Lifted Ford Straight Pipe
Need to still make a cover for underneath still. Took it out mudding yesterday alot of it washed off we had a heavy rain fall. Still thinking about shorting the pipes up and see if i like it. Right now i have them about halfway under my bed. Lol my neighbor came out and said damm what did you do that thing rumbles did you put headers on it? Pretty loud for a 400 under the hood.

I think it sounds great. Your neighbor was probably napping and had to see what the hell was going on out there!

Montana and Idaho are a long way from Wisconsin, so I don't think we'll ever get the chance to go mudding together.

You will gain some hp from removing the mufflers, but will also lose some torque at the same time.

Another setup I just thought of that would be neat to try is long tube headers with nothing but those turn down pipe & muffler combos on the collectors. That would be loud as hell with a nice sound to it.

Thanks yeah i love the sound!! Yeah im a long ways away from you. That kinda sucks cause i need some mudding buddy's. I have a few but they have small Mazda's in 2wd and a couple Toyota's in 4wd. But they don't have the grunt or the power to get up in some of the places here. They are afraid to scratch their paint. I call them barbie trucks!! Yeah thats what i heard i will loose some low end torque. Yeah i bet he was napping lol!! I like that idea you have with the headers but i dont want it to to loud cause i have to still drive it on the streets to get to the trails. I plan on building a custom tube buggy next year and with that thing i will be going all out i have a stroked 460 to go in there its 0.030-over and the 4.150-inch scat stroker crank makes 502 ci now that will be a beast with just headers on it and turn downtips lol (evil grin) if i dont put it in my custom buggy it will go in my 77 and i will be bustin u-joints and other stuff lol

A custom buggy would be sweet, especially with that big ol' engine. Your current truck would be fun with that, too. Yeah, busted u-joints, axle shafts, etc. it's all part of the fun!
