Default transmission swap for f150

Ok i have a 1997 f-150 2wd with the 4.6 liter but it needs a new transmission and i found a 1994 ford thunderbird for cheap and it comes with the 4.6 liter engine. I was wondering if i could take the transmission out of the thunderbird and put it on my f-150, is that possibe?

From my understanding, since there both gas engines. You should only have to count bell housing bolts and /or pan bolts. Yet that in and as its self can get tricky, due to electronics.

If it's the same 4R70W trans, it should work fine. The electronics are the same, as is the logic. However, some of the trucks from this generation were equipped with the E4OD trans, which is bigger and has a different connector, cooler lines, etc, etc.
